DOCABILITY 1st and 2nd Editions

DOCABILITY, the experential matchmaking initiative between PhD students and companies of Emilia-Romagna Region, has come to an end.

The Program has among its objectives the valorization of the skills and employability of PhD candidates; the reduction of the mismatch between supply and demand of high skills; the promotion of collaborative processes to suppurt innovation on the issues of sustainability and the green transition.

The initiative took place in two editions, a first one ended in June 2024 and a second one endend in January 2025.

Docability is a concrete intervention model to reduce the communication and knowledge mismatch between PhD students and companies, A pathway that combines: a dedicated online phase, to help PhD students analyze and enhance their hard and soft skills, linking them to innovation paths in the regional ecosystem; an experential phase, characterized by working tables where PhD and companies discussed, with expert facilitators, innovation topics chosen by companies.

The initiative saw a huge partecipation of PhD students and 8 regional companies in two editions, allowing direct interaction and ensuring mutual knowledge and experience exchange.

We thank all the PhD students for participation and the parter Universities: University of Modena and Reggio Emilia; University of Bologna; University of Ferrara; University of Parma; Chatolic University of the Sacred Heart.

Finally, a special thanks to the companies that took part in the programme, deciding to dialogue and discuss with PhD students on how to understand and amanage innovation towards a sustainable future.
